What is the cross reference between a gas boat motor over an electric boat motor? - boats no motor
I wonder if I invest in a boat with electric motor, if I must remain a windy day. This is a boat with electric motor was a 9.9 hp motor for gas in comparison?

I think the references to the size of a gas engine may be talking about a drag-and-electric engine. Right? If I do not apologize, but if so ...
If the game directly into a strong wind, in fact, could have problems with a traction motor has no power to your return. Of course, the same could happen with a 9.9 HP gas outboard engines.
My preference would be to go with the gas outboard, just because you more power than the traction motors.
Of course the answer would be very cheeky and put a candle on a windy day and the use of clean solar energy!
Sorry, could not resist.
The electric motors were quickly banned Fuel drag racing, because they can not compete. An electric motor of 200 hp is about two feet long and a foot or more in diameter. The equivalent of 10 hp is about as big as a roll of toilet paper. (from the top of my head about 6.5 kilowatts?)
The problem is not the engine is the battery capacity. Great progress has been made in this area as we speak, but the issue of other costs. I saw a model of the eighties will be refined 8 HP Suzuki two-stroke engine and an electric motor for retirement brush fortunately a small boat with a big man there. It's great fun for one hour to close it and wait ten hours to charge, which is the only serious problem with it, first with the exception of the cost of the batteries, but if the money is not an issue that is very profitable. Yess and you can use a backup generator for the batteries, but why notDiesel and electric instead? It is possible, but too much simplicity is abducted and is still negative in practice. The more complicated the system is more than one bit error.
Given the need to find alternatives for that link is really interesting ...

Good luck. ^ _ ^
Never hear of a boat, I know I have little bow thruster to sneak into the objectives of the gold
I looked around some sites are rear-mounted engines, can not find enough information to discuss many options that I want to your local boat shop
Much of this depends on the size and weight of your Tinnie
